Expressions of Interest for Consultant-Peer Review of the Independent Evaluation Office of the GEF

Introduction

The Global Environment Facility (GEF) provides support to address global environmental concerns related to biodiversity, climate change, international waters, land degradation, and persistent organic pollutants.  Since its inception in 1991, the GEF has provided developing countries and countries with economies in transition more than US $ 17.9 billion in grants and mobilized an additional $93.2 billion in co-financing for more than 4500 projects in 170 countries. The GEF Independent Evaluation Office (IEO) has a central role in ensuring the independent evaluation function within the GEF. The IEO reports directly to the GEF Council, sets minimum requirements for evaluation, and shares evaluative evidence within the GEF.
