Canadian Evaluation Society (CES) 2018

Juha Uitto, Director of the GEF Independent Evaluation Office, was a keynote plenary speaker for the 2018 Canadian Evaluation Society (CES) Conference. Uitto also participated in a panel discussion named "How do I do Sustainability-Ready Evaluation?" on May 27, 2017. The annual conference had a theme of co-creation which encourages engaing people to create mutually valued outcomes together, collaborating towards a common goal.

The Results Measurement and Evidence Stream (RMES) held its annual meeting at World Bank HQ. The event theme was Results at the center: Rethinking how we manage for results. The objectives were to motivate WBG management and operation staff to focus on reuslts at the onset and throughout WBG operations, not only at the end; raise awareness of ongoing initiatives related to results management across WBG; and enhance WBG staff's knowledge and technical skills in results management.

GEF-7 4th Replenishment Meeting

The GEF replenishment meetings provide an opportunity for Contributing Participants to review GEF performance and evaluate progress, assess future funding needs, and agree on a financing framework. On April 25, 2018 during the fourth replenishment meeting, close to 30 countries have jointly pledged US$4.1 billion to the GEF to better protect the future of the planet and human well-being (press release).

Uitto discussed Climate Change and Environmental Hazards: Evaluation Strategies and Programs for Impact and Effectiveness. This session was held irom 8:00 - 9:40 am on Friday, April 13.

2nd Global Adaptation Network (GAN) Forum 2018
