Kyoko Matsumoto is a Senior Evaluation Officer in the Independent Evaluation Office of the GEF.
Prior to joining the GEF, she has held several positions at different institutions in Japan. She worked for Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) as a senior safeguard policy specialist to review and supervise projects for environment and social considerations. She has also been a researcher in the Graduate School of Frontier Sciences at the University of Tokyo, and Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES).
She holds a PhD in International Studies. Her main fields of study are transboundary environmental impact assessment, water resource management, and livelihood restoration for the affected people.
