Corporate Evaluations
Mariana is an evaluation analyst who applies data-driven approaches to assess the performance and impact of environmental interventions. At the GEF Independent Evaluation Office, she has contributed to evaluations on Sustainable Cities, Results-based Management, Co-financing, and Learning from Challenges, as well as to the Annual Performance Report and the Management Action Record. Her work involves designing data collection tools, managing databases, and conducting both statistical and qualitative analyses.
Previously, she worked with the World Bank’s Independent Evaluation Group, where she conducted portfolio reviews and econometric analyses, and contributed to country case studies for evaluations on Doing Business, Financial Inclusion, and IFC Additionality. At the Mexican Central Bank, she carried out policy-oriented research and co-authored papers on price dynamics and labor markets. She also supported PEMEX, Mexico’s state-owned oil company, in its budgeting process through analytical work and stakeholder coordination. Mariana holds a Master’s in Public Policy from the University of Chicago and a BA in Economics from Tecnologico de Monterrey.
