Kate Steingraber
Evaluation Officer
Social Inclusion Lead
Kate is an Evaluation Officer at the GEF Independent Evaluation Office, where she leads thematic and corporate evaluations across climate and environmental portfolios with a focus on stakeholder engagement and inclusion.
At the IEO, she serves as the focal point for inclusion, equity, and stakeholder engagement, representing the office in dialogues with the Indigenous Peoples Advisory Group and the Civil Society Network.
She also designs and facilitates learning sessions on participatory evaluation, gender equality, and environmental evaluation methods.
Before joining the GEF IEO, she worked across the World Bank Group’s Independent Evaluation Group, where she authored project evaluations for climate adaptation, rural development, and community-driven development projects. She’s also worked at the Development Impact Evaluation unit in the World Bank, focusing on synthesizing lessons from impact evaluations to improve operational relevance and as a Lead Researcher for the Climate and Land Use Alliance. Her field experience spans Latin America, Asia, Central Europe, and Africa.
Kate holds a Master of International Development Policy from Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Spanish from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
