The Global Biodiversity Framework Fund (GBFF) is a trust fund established by the GEF in 2023 to support countries in achieving global biodiversity goals.

Its governing body, the GBFF Council, meets every six months to provide strategic direction and oversee the Fund's policies, programming, and resource allocation.

On February 8 and Febuary 9, 2024, the the GBFF Council met to discuss financing the implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. This included discussion of the Independent Evaluation Office workplan and budget.
