The Global Biodiversity Framework Fund (GBFF) is a trust fund established by the GEF in 2023 to support countries in achieving global biodiversity goals.
Its governing body, the GBFF Council, meets every six months to provide strategic direction and oversee the Fund's policies, programming, and resource allocation. On June 2 through 6, 2026, the GBFF Council met to review progress in financing the implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.
The Independent Evaluation Office (IEO) presented a Formative Evaluation of the Global Biodiversity Framework Fund to inform the Council's deliberations and decision-making.
