Integrating Environmental and Socioeconomic Domains for Sustainability

Building on the success of its previous three Conferences, and as part of its 20^th anniversary celebrations, the GEF Independent Evaluation Office is gathering distinguished speakers and participants for two and a half days (March 5-7, 2024) of intensive discussions on evaluation in the context of environment and development.

During the GEF 7^th Assembly the IEO organized an interesting discussion on the "Influence and Use of Evaluations." This event focused on how evaluations shape impactful decisions to help countries in a path to a greener future. Geeta Batra, Chief Evaluation Officer, moderated a discussion with the GEF council member from Mexico and government representatives from Jordan and Nepal, and the GEF IEO Director Juha Uitto.

GEF IEO is proud to support the IDEAS Conference 2022. This online event will provide a platform to explore how evaluation can contribute to transformational change, one that recognizes the rights, aspirations of all people, ensures their voices are heard and questions the differential impact on those who are privileged and those who are not.
